AECOM buys Lend Lease Russian operations

AECOM has bought Lend Lease’s project and construction management operations in Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States of the former Soviet Union.

The 150-person business has projects in the commercial, retail, hospitality, healthcare, residential, industrial, airport, mixed-use and tall buildings sectors.

These include the Crescent in Baku, Azerbaijan; the Ritz Carlton hotel and the CiTer Invest tower in Moscow and the Peugeot Citroen and Mitsubishi automotive plant in Kaluga, Russia.

AECOM Europe chief executive Steve Morriss said: “We are gaining a dedicated team of professionals who share our commitment to health, safety and customer service.  They will help us grow in the five key sectors of commercial, sports, industrial, transportation and healthcare.”

Lend Lease in December transferred 150 staff, including a number in the UK, to Aecom in the first part of a deal that will see it exit a number of European businesses.

It also intends to sell its Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Poland, Turkey and the Netherlands.
