Australia hospital job for Lend Lease

Lend Lease is to build a 738-bed hospital in Australia’s Sunshine Coast.

The A$2bn (£1.3bn) project for Queensland Health will see the Sunshine Coast University Hospital built at Kawana.

Lend Lease and the Exemplar Health consortium will work with Queensland Health in an arrangement to design, construct, maintain and finance the hospital.

Construction is expected to start next month, with the first stage is due for completion in late 2016 and further stages planned for commissioning in mid-2018 and mid-2021.

Lend Lease Group chief executive Steve McCann said: “This latest award confirms the experience and track record of our business in the health sector and the strength of Lend Lease’s integrated model being applied to the infrastructure sector.”
