Crossrail tenders £250m Paddington station job

Crossrail are inviting contractors to bid for a £250 million contract covering the main works for a new station at Paddington – the first of the major station packages to be advertised.

Contract C405 comprises the construction of a 260m-long, 23m-deep underground station box directly under Departures Road and Eastbourne Terrace as well as fit out and mechanical and electrical works.

The successful contractor will also have to build a shallow cut and cover passageway in Praed Street connecting Crossrail to London Underground’s District and Circle Lines and a tunnel link to the Bakerloo Line.

Station communication systems, lifts and escalators may also be included under the scope of the contract.

Firms have until 8 November to submit pre-qualification questionnaires.
