Torbay council seeks partner for £150m sports hub

Torbay Council is seeking a development partner for its Clennon Valley and Goodrington Sports and Tourism hub, valued at up to £150 million.

The council wants to create an outstanding sporting, leisure and recreation venue, providing activities and sports facilities for residents and visitors to include a mix of leisure, recreational, tourism and community uses.

The first stage of the procurement process has been launched to select a partner who will submit proposals for development and then go on to complete the development works.

The contract value has a range from £5-£150m and the council said this is because “at this stage it is unknown what development proposal will be successful and the opportunities for development are vast and varied”.

A maximum of six contractors will be invited to tender stage. The deadline for expressions of interest is 17 February at 12pm.
