29Apr93 JAPAN: TOKYO BEAMS UP BORDER OAK - ELIZABETHAN VILLAGE CONTRUCTION.

Herefordshire firm Border Oak is helping to lift UK building materials exports. The firm has secured a £4.1 million contract to build a mock Elizabethan village in Japan. British craftsmen are to train and work with Japanese builders during construction of the half-timbered oak framed houses on a site at Iwasegun, 150 m north of Tokyo. The village is to be used as a live-in campus for 250 students studying English. CONSTRUCTION NEWS
