29Apr93 PHILIPPINES: POWER DEAL - MITSUBISHI WINS COAL-FIRED POWER STATIONS CONTRACT.

Mitsubishi of japan has won a turnkey contract to build two coal-fired power stations in the Philippines for Gordon Wu's Hong Kong-based Hopewell Holdings. The power stations will be at Pagbilao Grande Island, 150 km south of Manila, with the first unit commissioned in late 1995. Hopewell will operate the stations for 25 years. The total cost including finance is estimated at US$933 million. CONSTRUCTION NEWS
