7/7 report to expose communications failings

Severe communication problems between emergency workers in the chaotic aftermath of the London bombings will be exposed by an official report today.

The inadequacy of the communication systems in place that day is just one of a series of failings uncovered by the London Assembly's investigation into the July 7 attacks.

Its report, which will be published today, is also expected to reveal that hundreds and possibly thousands of survivors of the blasts were allowed to simply walk away from the scene without anyone taking their details.
