Sir,It would be interesting to ask James Church (‘How can ladders be safer than platforms?’, Letters, August 30) how an engineer would mend a phone line, an aerial installer would repair a TV aerial, a roofer would fix a roof and a window cleaner would clean windows without a ladder?Or is it OK for some trades to use ladders but not others?What kind of non-conductive, not aluminium access equipment would Mr Church recommend an electricity linesman use other ...
