Osborne commits new money for LEPs and single cash pot

The chancellor has confirmed new money for Local Enterprise Partnerships.

George Osborne said: “Government spending should be aligned with the priorities of the local business community, we will provide new money to support LEPs.

“More of the funding that currently goes to local transpiort, housing and skills…will go into a single pot that LEPs can bid for.”

There will also be more money for regional growth fund. Details on local transport, housing and skills funding will be released in the spending review.
