Atkins has appointed Graham Candy as managing director for Europe in a move it has said is part of a plan to increase its presence on the continent.
Mr Candy will work alongside the company’s existing European leadership team as the company eyes opportunities in transport, infrastructure and government digital services, a company statement said.
The chartered engineer, who has worked at Atkins for 25 years in a number of senior technical and operational roles, will be based in Scandinavia.
Philip Hoare, CEO UK & Europe at SNC-Lavalin Atkins, said the move has happened as the company attempts to become one of the “region’s leading engineering, design and project management consultancies”.
Canadian engineering giant SNC-Lavalin took over Atkins in 2017.
