15) James Stewart

Chief executive, Partnerships UK

Established in 2000, PUK has had Mr Stewart at the helm for the duration. Although not especially well known, its remit of supporting public-private partnerships has helped facilitate over 900 projects worth £70 billion. Experience of both sectors through posts including director of Northern Ireland’s Strategic Investment Board and Head of Infrastructure at Société Générale make him an obvious choice for championing PPPs.
