Calls for greater investment in water infrastructure have grown during Ms Finn’s three years in charge. As much as £27bn may be needed to upgrade ageing pipes and tackle the effects of climate change, yet the recession means Ms Finn will need to use her previous experience raising the efficiency of Ireland’s infrastructure in order to succeed.
