Crane collapses on Cabinet Office in Westminster

A crane has collapsed on the Cabinet Office in London after gale-force winds hit central London.

The crane collapsed on the Westminster building at 6.53am today.

Transport for London said Whitehall was closed in both directions between Parliament Square and Horse Guards Avenue.

No injuries were reported, according the the Metropolitan Police.

London Fire Brigade confirmed to Construction News it attended the incident on Whitehall to ensure everyone was safe, but the incident is being dealt with by crane engineers.
