Man hurt when bus hits scaffolding

A workman was seriously when scafolding collapsed after being hit by a Stagecoach bus in Louth, Lincolnshire.

The 34-year-old man was working on the building in Mercer Road when the collision broke the ties holding the scaffolding to the wall.

He was taken to hospital in Grimsby with serious injuries to his face and legs. It is not yet known if his condition is life threatening.

The road was blocked, and traffic was forced to divert. The Health and Safety Executive has launched an investigation.
