Doosan launches Stage IIIB 8-tonne excavator

Doosan has launched its new generation DX85R-3 reduced tail swing excavator to replace the company’s previous DX80R model.

The new DX85R-3 excavator is powered by a Yanmar 4TNV98C diesel engine providing 44.3 kW of power at a rated speed of 2100 rpm, meeting Stage IIIB emission requirements.

It achieves this through the use of exhaust gas recirculation and diesel particulate filter after-treatment technologies.

Doosan says the new model offers a 10 per cent increase in power over the DX80R, with the 6.3-tonne bucket digging force representing a 12 per cent increase over the previous model.

The manufacturer says the DX85R-3’s traction force has also been increased by 7 per cent to 6.6 tonnes, while travel speeds remain the same in both the low range (2.7 km/h) and the high range (4.7 km/h).
