Sir Adrian Montague steps down from Green Investment Bank

Sir Adrian Montague is to stand down as deputy chairman of the UK green Investment Bank in April 2013.

Sir Adrian  played a key role in the GIB’s creation, chairing Vince Cable’s Advisory Group and helping manage the Bank’s establishment.

Offices in Edinburgh and London are now fully operational.

Lord Smith of Kelvin said without Sir Adrian’s “nurturing” the Bank wouldn’t exist as it did today.

The government said Sir Adrian “has decided that the time will be right for him to step aside”.

Business secretary Vince Cable said: “Sir Adrian has been a key architect of the Green Investment Bank, both as a committed Chair of the Advisory Group and active Deputy Chair of UK Green Investment Bank plc.”

“His advice has been invaluable and he has been a major force in getting the UK GIB up and running.”
