Bids invited for £20m Middlesbrough police HQ

Cleveland PCC is looking for a contractor to build a new police headquarters in Middlesborough, worth up to £20m.

The job covers the design and build of a new 5,000 sq m building that should provide open-plan office space and function suites, in addition to 350 parking spaces.

Construction is estimated to cost between £8m and £20m and will take place on an unoccupied site at Hemlington, near Middlesbrough.

Work is expected to begin in October 2013 for completion by the end of 2015.

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 20 June 2013. Electronic submission of tenders and requests to participate should be sent through the Bluelight portal.

Cleveland PCC will then reduce the number of participants to two or three of those best-placed to meet the requirements.
