Birmingham confirms £3bn framework winners

The names of four contractors appointed to the top lot of the £3 billion Constructing West Midlands framework have been confirmed by Birmingham City Council.

As revealed by CN last month, the winners include Mansell, Morgan Sindall, Thomas Vale and Willmott Dixon.

The four firms will compete for jobs worth more than £500,000 a year with a total forecast spend of £150 million a year.

Morgan Sindall chief executive Paul Smith said he was “delighted” Morgan Sindall and subsidiary Lovell had clinched positions on the framework.

“Morgan Sindall and Lovell working together as Community Solutions West Midlands is a further example of the complementary nature of our divisions’ capabilities and the benefit this brings to our Group.”

Up to 16 contractors are believed to have tendered for places with high profile names including Kier and Wates missing out.
