BT appoints new construction chief

BT has appointed Gary Wingrove as its new head of construction programme management.

Mr Wingrove will oversee delivery of all capital construction projects globally.

He previously led the commercial and cost management team at UBS and prior to that was head of cost management for Morgan Stanley, advising on its Canary Wharf portfolio.

BT’s global property portfolio includes more than 8,000 properties across over 170 countries.

Mr Wingrove said “BT has a deserved reputation for innovation in Corporate Real Estate and my role is to deliver the ideas and management approaches which will continue to make BT a leading CRE team. Managing investment in capex projects prudently and effectively is more important now than ever.  I am looking forward to bringing my experience to the team and to continuing to drive cost and service transformation within BT.”

BT Group Property head of service delivery Martin Steele said: “Gary is vastly experienced and extremely well-connected. He will strengthen our team and enhance our capability to deliver quality and value. We are delighted to have him on board.”
