Capital Shopping Centres land buy boosts Braehead extension plans

Retail developer Capital Shopping Centres has agreed a deal with Peel Group to buy land which will help boost plans to extend the Braehead shopping centre in Glasgow.

CSC will pay Clydeport Properties £4.75 million for the 30.96 acre King George V Docks site which “offers significant opportunities for future development in relation to the shopping centre and leisure activities at Braehead”.

As CSC deputy chairman JohnWhittaker is involved with Peel Group, the transactions are conditional on the approval of shareholders.
