Bids invited for £14.5m Highland care homes job

The Highland Council is inviting bids for a three-lot £14.5 million contract to build care homes in Inverness, Muir of Ord, and Fort William.

The 44-bed home at Inverness is the largest of the three lots and is valued at £5.6 million.

The contracts for the 32-bed facility at Muir of Ord and 30-bed Fort William home are valued at £4.1 million and £4.8 million respectively.

Up to 18 firms will be invited to tender on 25 January 2010 with a maximum of six bidding for each lot.

The deadline for pre-qualification questionnaires is 21 September.
