Boris unveils £4bn of London road improvements

The Mayor of London has announced a £4bn programme to improve selected London junctions and roads.

The 50 projects, which are now underway, include work to make 33 junctions better for cyclists and £200m of work at 17 other locations.

The schemes have begun in response to the recommendations of  the Mayor’s Roads Taskforce last July.

The projects include the redevelopment of the IMAX roundabout at Waterloo, reduction of traffic congestion around Croydon’s Fiveways junction, and better pedestrian and cycling facilities on Balham High Road and Victoria Circus.
