Bramall Construction to build care facility

Yorkshire housing specialist Bramall Construction has won a £10 million contract to build a social-care facility in Cambridgeshire.

The company is part of the Keepmoat Group, an community regeneration organisation with an annual turnover of more than £560 million.

The client is the Sanctuary Group, a leading UK housing and social-care provider. The facility in Soham will include 92 apartments for people aged 55 and over.

It will also have a shop, hairdressers, gym, restaurant, catering facilities, community lounges and a coffee bar - all of which will be open to the wider local community.

It will be built in two separate phases over two and a half years, and replace an existing sheltered-housing scheme.

Keepmoat is currently working in partnership with Solihull Community Housing to deliver their £64 million, eight-year Decent Homes Programme.

It includes the refurbishment of 8,100 council houses. Work includes full kitchen and bathroom replacements, central heating, re-wiring, plastering and decorating.
