Carillion scoops defence deal

CarillionEnterprise has been awarded a four-year contract by Defence Estates for the provision of the multi-activity contract services at RAF Spadeadam in Cumbria.

The company already provides core services such as the maintenance of built assets, infrastructure and facilities management, at the Ministry of Defence site as part of Regional Prime Contract Central.

The existing contract has been extended from April 1 to cover additional support services, including mechanical transport operations and maintenance, general engineering support and waste disposal. The role also includes the deployment of electronic warfare systems in support of the unit’s training mission.

CarillionEnterprise managing director Tom Robinson said: “We look forward to building on and developing the services at Spadeadam, and as part of this we welcome the opportunity of working with the RAF Spadeadam team.

“This contract moves us towards our vision to be the best support service provider on the military estate.”
