HS2 invites suppliers for views on phase one procurement

High Speed 2 has invited potential suppliers for their views on the first phase of its procurement, before its next supply chain conference this summer.

Over the next four months, HS2 will look to engage with SMEs, trade associations and local enterprise partnerships to gain their “thoughts and opinions” through one-to-one meetings and group discussions.

The market engagement was officially launched today via a periodic indicative notice [follow link to participate].

Speaking to Construction News days before officially launching the PIN, Ms West said collaboration was central to the success of HS2 and that procurement would begin shortly after the summer conference.

In a statement today she added: “Understanding and observing the market’s current thoughts and opinions will play an important part in the development of our final procurement strategy for phase one.

“We are also keen to work with businesses who are not traditionally involved in the rail sector. These can bring best practice techniques and products to ensure the delivery of HS2.

“We look forward to engaging with businesses early on in the process and we would like to encourage them to engage with us too.”
