Bam has confirmed it is in talks with Great Portland Estates for the main building contract on its £28m Soho commercial scheme.
In April, Construction News revealed the contractor had won the pre-construction contract for St Lawrence House and was in pole position for the main building package.
The building will feature six levels of high-quality office space as well as ground and lower-floor retail in Soho, central London.
It will have photovoltaic cells and natural ventilation, aiming for a BREEAM Excellent rating.
Demolition work started on site in April 2014, with the whole project due for completion in February 2016.
Bam project manager Rob Biddle said: “This is a high profile job in the centre of London’s historic Soho district.
“We are using all our skills and experience to ensure the project is a success for the eventual end users as well as the local population and environment.”
Earlier this week Argent appointed Bam to build the latest King’s Cross office development, Three Pancras Square, understood to be worth in excess of £50m.
