Bam Construction to start £20m leisure development

Bam Construction will start work on a £20m leisure centre in Yorkshire this month after planners approved the scheme in October.

The Leisure World scheme in Bridlington was given planning permission by East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

The centre will include a 25m swimming pool, a smaller learner pool, and a third pool with water slide, as well as a health suite including a sauna and jacuzzi, a gym, sports hall, squash courts and a climbing wall.

Construction director for Bam Construction John Phillips said the company would use a local team and would try to use local firms “as much as possible”.

Elsewhere in the region, Bam Construction is already building Huddersfield Sports Centre.
