Bam lined up for Manchester office job

Bam Construct is understood to have been chosen to deliver a new office and hotel development in Manchester.

The appointment is expected to be confirmed in mid-January.

Client Ask Real Estate has picked the firm for the 17-storey building in the south of Manchester city centre.

Office space will occupy most of the bottom 11-storeys, with some of the space being used for commercial units. A hotel with 205 bedrooms will be spread across the upper storeys.

Plans for the development have been recommended for approval ahead of a planning committee meeting due to take place today.

The hotel is part of the wider 17-acre First Street development in Greater Manchester. A 279 apartment student accommodation and office are already open and a second office, called No 8, is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018.

Bam Construct was also picked to deliver a 6,500 capacity car park at Manchester Airport earlier this year.
