Al Futtaim Carillion JV wins One Central contract for Dubai World Trade Centre

A Carillion joint venture has scooped a £160m contract to build two office blocks in Dubai.

Al Futtaim Carillion (AFC) will deliver the third phase of the One Central scheme for Dubai World Trade Centre.

AFC has already delivered the first two phases of the mixed-use development, which is located along Sheikh Zayed Road and will combine residential, business, leisure and entertainment facilities.

Under the third phase, AFC will deliver one 12-storey and one eight-storey building.

Construction will begin this month and is expected to be completed by the end of 2018.

Carillion will also begin work this month on a £96m bypass in Lincoln, which was given the green light in November 2016.

The contractor was named as the preferred bidder for the scheme in October, with the Department for Transport releasing £50m in funding the following month.

The bypass scheme is expected to be delivered by December 2019.
