Bill Hocking becomes construction chief executive as Ken Gillespie prepares to retire from Galliford Try

Bill Hocking has started as chief executive for Galliford Try’s construction and investments businesses.

The move means Mr Hocking assumes Ken Gillespie’s role, ahead of his retirement in February 2017.

Mr Gillespie has now stepped down from Galliford Try’s board.

Mr Hocking, who had been managing director of construction since 1 September 2015, left Skanska after 25 years.

Thomas Faulkner was promoted to executive vice-president at Skanska following the departure of Mr Hocking.
