Galliford Try to build £43m Birmingham luxury flats

Galliford Try has been confirmed as the main contractor for a £43m residential project in the centre of Birmingham.

The contractor will build 304 luxury flats across three blocks on brownfield land for developer Court Collaboration and Top Capital Group.

The ’Axium’ development will be constructed on brownfield land to the rear of the O2 Academy.

Galliford Try is currently building several projects in Britain’s second-largest city, including the £40m redevelopment of an underground car park into a 22-storey residential block.

Galliford Try’s West Midlands and South-west managing director Simon Burton: “We are very pleased to have reached agreement with Court and Top Capital Group for this exciting new residential scheme.

“The centre of Birmingham is alive with regeneration projects at the moment, and these new high-quality apartments will be at the heart of what is a genuinely vibrant city.”

Galliford Try bought two major housing regeneration sites in the West Midlands worth £31m last month after Bouygues UK’s decision to exit the low-rise family housing sector.
