Kier has been appointed as the main contractor to build Argent’s P2 building in Kings Cross, as revealed by CN on Monday.
The contractor will deliver the 388,000 sq ft 12-storey building will is part of the 27 ha north London redevelopment.
The P2 building is set to be occupied by the social media giant along with 11-21 Canal Reach which Bam Construction won the contract to build on Monday.
It features office accommodation over nine floors along with a 600-seat theatre and retail units.
Kier has previously built the £70m R7 building in Kings Cross for Argent, which featured offices above a cinema and restaurant space.
Argent’s King’s Cross project director James Edgerley said: “We have a long-standing relationship with Kier and we are delighted to be working again with key members of the team that delivered building R7 so successfully last year.”
Yesterday, it was revealed Kier investors bought just 37.66 per cent of its new shares under the group’s £264m rights issue, leaving lenders to buy the remaining shares at an inflated rate.
