Laing O'Rourke wins £153m Australian rail electrification job

Laing O’Rourke, in a joint venture with O’Donnell Griffin, has won a £153 million contract to carry out the Sunbury Rail Electrification Project in Victoria, Australia.

Works on the project, which is part of a scheme to improve rail services on the Sydenham-Sunbury corridor, is due to start in early 2010.

Laing O’Rourke was recently awarded a major rail electrification project in Auckland, New Zealand.

It is also currently delivering electrification works for Queensland Rail in the Queensland coalfields and for RailCorp across New South Wales.
