Mace poaches Morgan Sindall man for fit-out relaunch

Mace has appointed a new director to lead its rebranded fit-out business.

Previously called Como, Mace Interiors will be led by Stewart Ward who joins from Morgan Sindall fit-out subsidary Overbury.

Mr Ward spent 15 years at Overbury, serving as commercial manager in his most recent role at the firm.

The rebranded Mace Interiors will continue to target commercial fit-out projects with contract values ranging from £500,000 to over £75m.

Mace said the relaunch aimed to “better align” its fit-out arm with its corporate brand.

Mr Ward has been tasked with expanding the contractor’s interiors division over the next five years.

Mace deputy chief operating officer Mark Castle said: “The next 12 months will mark a key phase of growth for Mace Interiors.”

The commercial fit-out market has seen increasing levels of competition over the last two years, with ISG launching its Agility fit-out subsidiary in 2016.

The new business has primarily targeted commercial office work in the sub-50,000 sq ft segment.
