Mace scoops £140m Mayfair job

Mace has landed a £140m contract to design and build a residential scheme in London’s prestigious Mayfair district.

India’s largest developer, Lodha Group, appointed the contractor to build the luxury residential development No.1 Grosvenor Square.

More than 150,000 sq ft will be developed into apartments, duplexes and a penthouse.

The site was formerly occupied by the Canadian High Commission.

Mace will start work on site in the autumn once specialist contractor McGee has finished piling and excavating the site.

Lodha is also developing fellow luxury residential scheme, 48 Carey Street, in London.

Construction News revealed last January that Multiplex had scooped the contract to build that £120m development.

The Carey Street scheme, located in Westminster, was given planning permission from Westminster Council in November 2014.
