Morgan Sindall managing director steps down

Morgan Sindall managing director for the East of England Saul Humphrey has resigned from the company after almost two years with the firm.

Mr Humphrey (pictured with home secretary Sajid Javid) was in charge of the construction and infrastructure for the East of England, having joined the company from R G Carter in January 2017.

A spokeswoman for Morgan Sindall said: “We have a very strong business in the east and a highly experienced senior team who will ensure the continued smooth running of operations.”

The company has focused on increasing margins in its construction and infrastructure business and expects to achieve margins of around 2 per cent for the second half of 2018, it said in its last trading update in November.

Earlier this year the company was appointed to the Scape framework for the Midlands and East of England. The entire framework is worth up to £1.1bn.

Morgan Sindall has won third-most amount of work by value and contracts so far in 2018 according to the latest contractor league table.
