Sir Robert McAlpine's chief financial officer exits

Sir Robert McAlpine’s chief financial officer has left the business.

Miles Shelley has retired from his role at the contractor following 25 years in the position.

The firm has appointed Leighton More as its new CFO. Mr More joins from rival Costain, where he served as the finance director for its infrastructure division.

Mr More spent three years at Costain prior to taking up his new role.

Before joining Costain, he worked at Serco for seven years, joining the business as corporate finance manager and progressing to the position of finance director for the firm’s home affairs division.

Mr More officially joined McAlpine on 3 September.

In an exclusive interview in July, Sir Robert McAlpine chief executive Paul Hamer told Construction News about how he hoped to “transform the business without changing it.”

Last month, CN revealed Sir Robert McAlpine was one of three firms left in the race to deliver a new £300m tower in central London.
