Vinci picked for £97m Hull university campus

Vinci Construction UK has been awarded a £97m contract to design and construct new student accommodation at the University of Hull.

The University Partnerships Programme (UPP) has appointed Vinci to take on the project, which will feature 1,462 one-bed apartments.

The accommodation will be spread across nine blocks, with 478 of the rooms expected to be available for the new student intake in September 2018 and the remainder to be ready for the following academic year.

The new campus forms part of the University of Hull’s £155m development plan, which also includes an urban green and avenue offering student facilities including a café, convenience store, laundry facilities and outdoor areas.

Vinci chairman and chief executive Bruno Dupety said: “This will be the fifth student accommodation contract Vinci Construction UK has carried out for UPP. Our experience and expertise in the student accommodation sector will ensure the highest-quality facility that enhances the student experience of life on campus.”
