Winners unveiled on £732m Cambridgeshire framework

Ten contractors have landed spots on a £732m framework covering construction jobs across Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.

Balfour Beatty, Kier, McLaughlin & Harvey and Morgan Sindall are among the names to have secured places on Cambridgeshire County Council’s Design and Build framework.

The framework will last four years and is split into five lots organised in terms of project value, with the lowest covering works between £1m and £2.9m and the highest involving jobs over £15m.

The framework has been procured by the council though its LGSS shared services partnership with Northamptonshire County Council and will see the contractors used for work in both counties.

Balfour Beatty, McLaughlin & Harvey, Morgan Sindall, Kier and RG Carter have been chosen for the highest value package – lot five – covering projects above £15m, worth an estimated £386m.

Kier is the only contractor to secure a place on all five lots, while Lakehouse and RG Carter have been appointed to four.

LGSS was launched by Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes councils in 2010 and is used by the three authorities to procure services and construction work.
