Create Construction wins £5m Lancaster Uni job

Create Construction has been awarded a £5 million contract to refurbish and extend Bowland Main Building at Lancaster University.

The 42 week project, which includes 2 floors of open plan office space, 2 floors of student accommodation (148 bedrooms), a cinema, retail units and a bar, is due to be completed by September 2011.

Create fought of strong competition from 6 national contractors to win the contract, which was procured under the OJEU process and was subject to strict European Procurement laws.

Create’s managing director Paul Mathison said ‘Bowland Main is the fifth and largest project that we have carried out on behalf of Lancaster University and we are delighted that we have been chosen to deliver such an exciting scheme.”
