Durham Council tenders £13m children's home contract

Durham County Council is inviting bids for a £13 million contract to build a 38-bed secure children’s home for 12-17 year olds.

The project will include construction of five residential house blocks, an education and learning centre, and support services and visitor facilities as well as fitness and leisure, reception and admissions areas.

The design uses the buildings as the secure perimeter and requires the development of a courtyard space to provide modern, state of the art facilities.

A maximum of five contractors will be invited to tender for the deal. Firms have until 16 July to express an interest.
