BAA construction director Rob Stewart steps down for MoD job

BAA construction director Rob Stewart is to step down from the airport operator at the end of November to oversee the construction of the Ministry of Defence’s new technical college in South Wales.

Due to open its doors in 2014, the £12 billion defence technical academy will house a giant joint training centre for the Army, Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force.

Mr Stewart will take on the role of construction director for facilities management provider, Sodexo on a 1,000 acre site at St Athan.

A BAA spokesman spokesman said: “Rob Stewart has made a substantial contribution to BAA and we wish him every success in the next phase of his career.”

Nick Dent will take over as BAA capital development director from 1 December.
