BUDGET 2011: Osborne confirms package of planning measures

Chancellor George Osborne has unveiled a suite of plannign reforms designed to help boost the construction industry.

In his Budget speech Mr Osborne confirmed several widely trailled policies including relaxing the rules on change of use, a new trial for land auctions and a shared equity scheme designed to replace Home Buy Direct.

Mr Osborne said: “From today, we expect all bodies in planning to prioritize developments in favour of growth.”
