CJ Haughey faces winding up petition

Specialist contractor CJ Haughey is facing a winding-up petition, CNplus has learnt.

The Coventry-based civil engineering firm, which had turnover of more than £25m for the year to 28 February 2009, has a hearing at Leeds Combined Court on December 7 after a petition was ordered by one of its creditors, HBPW Consulting.

Credit reference agency Top Service today said it had collected £50,000 in payments owed to creditors by CJ Haughey over the past four weeks. The company’s website is down, and its telephone line is ringing out.

CJ Haughey is headed up by Chris Haughey who, at the age of 33, is one of the youngest senior directors in the construction sector.
