CSR 2010: Health capital spending to decrease by 17pc

The Comprehensive Spending Review has outlined a 17 per cent decrease in NHS capital spending by 2014/15.

The real terms increase in overall NHS spending promised by the government - which totals just 0.4 per cent - has been met through a 1.3 per cent increase in the resource budget.

However, George Osborne has promised funding for “priority hospital schemes” including St. Helier, Royal Oldham and West Cumberland.
