Ex-Severfield boss joins William Hare

Tom Haughey, former chief executive of Severfield Rowen, has joined rival steel business William Hare Group as a non-executive director.

Mr Haughey headed up the Severfield team for almost six years, before leaving in January this year as the firm reported overruns on the Cheesegrater project in the City of London.

Chairman John Dudd was then made executive chairman and sought to “re-establish the credibility of the group with all its stakeholders”.

Before 2002, he was commercial director at British Steel/Corus, which subsequently became Tata.

Mr Haughey is to join William Hare on 2 September 2013.
