FK Group results reveal record turnover and 59% profit hike

Building envelope specialist FK Group has posted record turnover and a 59 per cent increase in pre-tax profit.

The specialist contractor reported turnover of £70.5m for the year to 31 March 2016, up 52 per cent compared with the £45.8m reported a year earlier.

Pre-tax profit over the same period increased by 59 per cent to reach £3.3m, up from £2.1m in its previous results.

The Altrincham-based company has opened its sixth UK office in the last 12 months in Newport, south Wales, and has increased staff numbers to 140 – up from 80 in 2014/15.

Over the year the firm has worked on high-profile schemes in the North-west and around the country, including Two St Peter’s Square in Manchester with Laing O’Rourke, as well as a 175,000 sq ft speculative industrial facility at Liverpool International Business Park for Eric Wright Group.

The group has also secured contracts overseas including a £5m project at Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport.

FK Group chief executive Francis Keenan said the company was continuing to “invest significantly in new services and training” to meet client demand.

“We are preparing ourselves for challenging conditions after the recent referendum, but we are fortunate to have developed and maintained relationships with some of the industry’s biggest names, with whom we have a strong forward order book and defined long-term pipeline,” he added.
