Henmans and Freeth Cartwright in £50m merger

Commercial property law firm Henmans LLP is to join up with Freeth Cartwright, creating a group with 629 staff, 125 partners, and a total revenue of approximately £50m.

Henmans will remain a separate entity, rebranding as Henmans Freeth when the merger is complete.

Henmans LLP is based in Oxford, while Freeth Cartwright has offices in several locations around England.

Henmans senior partner Malcolm Sadler said:  “This merger presents us with an opportunity to expand our client base across the country.  By combining our resources, Henmans and Freeth Cartwright will become a key player among the UK’s top law firms. This is a very exciting time for Henmans and we very much look forward to the opportunities this merger will provide”.

Freeth Cartwrightchief executive Peter Smith said: “This merger is a major step forward for both firms in achieving our long term strategic objectives and strengthens the services we are able to offer our clients.  We very much look forward to working together in our project to become a leading national firm”.
