In-house provider offers jobs to axed Connaught staff

Merseyside social housing provider One Vision Housing hopes to take on former Connaught staff after creating an in-house maintenance arm to fulfill the work contracted to the firm, which went into administration earlier this month.

One Vision Housing owns and manages more than 11,000 properties for Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council, and the venture will create up to 100 jobs providing services to residents.

Chairman Darren Hardy said: “We hope this restructure spells good news for at least some of the dismissed Connaught staff as well as providing opportunities for other local workers. This is an exciting time for the organisation.”

About 1,400 Connaught staff were made redundant by administrators KPMG.

One Vision Housing will be recruiting for the next two weeks.
