Mace operating officer appointment

Mace is to promote Marcus Burley to chief operating officer for international operations.

Mr Burley, currently deputy to the role, will succeed Michael Davies from April 2011. Mr Davies will remain with Mace until the end of 2011 to ensure a smooth transition.

Stephen Pycroft, chairman and chief executive of Mace, said: “Michael has been a valued board colleague for the last 10 years during which time he has led Mace’s international business from inception to achieving an annual turnover of £100m and operating in more than 50 countries.

“Marcus is a very worthy successor to Michael. This move is a natural progression and part of our succession planning. Marcus has successfully grown a sustainable business across the Middle East and North Africa over the past 12 years and his dynamic contribution to the group board over the past four years demonstrates he is the right person to take up this challenging role.”
